BudaBEST

Ok Im getting a little lazy with my blogs recently, but who can blame me.... second to last country of our nine day vacation - HUNGARY! Who the heck would ever think to go to hungary? Well we did and it didn't disappoint. I loved budapest - maybe because we literally spent the whole day in hot tubs... Budapest is known for their many thermal baths and with this being our 7th country in 8 days we were exhausted so we took full advantage of these hot tubs. Before we started our long day of bathing we stopped by the Danube to look at the Hungarian Parliament building. It was a beaut.

Touched the Danube! and got my coat covered in bird poop in the process.
Next stop... The Gellert Baths! This one was more low-key and less touristy. You would see a few tourists, but you also saw the little hungarian men that you know come to soak everyday. I loved these thermal baths. There was a couple outdoor ones, but we stayed inside for this stop.

So pretty and it felt so good!
Next stop the szechenyi thermal baths! This is the famous yellow building with over 70 baths inside and 3 huge outdoor pools. This place was awesome, but definitely the tourist spot... so many dang people. So overall I would recommend just skipping this one and chilling at the Gellert pools all day. Still rad though.

Walked past Hero Square in between the two baths, so I guess we did still see some of the city.

HAHA this picture cracks me up!!! Madi looks like a dead person. Lets be real though, underwater pictures are never cute. Love you Madi.

After hanging outside for a good long time we decided to explore the inside pools. My favorite part was the steam room/ cold tub! We would sit in the steam room for 10 minutes and then run on over to the cold tub - 13 degrees celsius (whatever that is). So much fun and it felt so good! The steam room took a little time to get used to it. It was so hot in there, I felt like I was breathing fire. After awhile it just felt nice to sweat and actually be hot - for the first time in months. We actually challenged ourselves to stay in there for 15 minutes and Im pretty sure we almost died but challenge completed!! Love, love, loved budapest. Much needed day of relaxation to get us through the rest of this crazy week! We hopped on a night bus - it actually wasnt as bad as the last one - and headed to our next stop, wootwoot! Much love from Hungary<3
