Doing the things...

This week I finished off another block of night shifts. I thought my body didn't get used to the schedule in just the two weeks, but these few days off ive had I go to bed around 1am and sleep in till 10 or 11 so Id say maybe I got used to it more than I thought.

I had my same patients this week as I did last - which is sometimes good and sometimes bad. I was happy to have them back. Both diabetic foot infections. One patient got his whole leg amputated while my other patient just needed the foot cleaned out a couple times. The amputation patient has super bad dementia and was a little more agitated this week compared to last. Whenever I had to poke his finger to get his blood sugar he'd yell at me and tell me he was gonna punch my in the face the next time I did that to him. It was an easy three day week and working night shift starting Sunday night means I'm off by Wednesday morning. So Ive had a long break which has been nice.

First item of business on Wednesday was my micro needling appointment. Ive gotta say right now my skin looks so dang good and actually has for the last couple of weeks. I have worn no makeup at all to church the last two weeks. A. because my skin looks great B. because I don't give two fricks about what I look like these days. I do love taking care of my skin though. Makes me feel good.

Thursday I met up with Ashley. It was really fun catching up with her and eating my favorite pizza. We both got the buffalo chicken pizza. She just moved closer to me so hopefully we'll be doing things more often.

This week has been nice realizing I still have a lot of good people in my life. Karee and I went to the temple Friday morning. She then was kind enough to help me with a school video. That's right - I started school again this week. boooo. And instead of weekly discussions that I can do alone in my bedroom whenever I want, I have weekly assessment videos where I have to find someone to be my "patient". So I'm not looking forward to bugging people each week and having to find time between my busy schedule plus theirs to get my stupid homework done. BUT this week it worked out especially because I had a ton of days off.

homework and yummy avocado toast. Never been one to do my homework at a library or coffee shop, but I see the hype. Friday night I also headed to Dremma's for dinner and games. It was a blast. We actually played some fun games and it was a good night spending time with them. Wish I had a picture, but I only have a funny video of drew.

Last item of business for the week was Erin's Utah Hockey game. I was excited to go and see Erin's family and watch hockey, but I'm not gonna lie it was a lot more difficult of a night than I was expecting. I was fighting back tears all night long. I know she wanted us to still all go and have fun, but it just wasnt the same without her.

I am glad Tara and Frank were able to come. Im always so happy to see them.

This is Mak and Morgan. Mak is Erin's good friend from Emery County and Morgan was Erin's roommate at DSU and ran with us for a little bit as well. The whole second period of the game we just all talked about Erin and how life has been over the last few weeks. It was nice to talk to people who get it. And Im glad they were there because they didn't have spouses to bring either. The last time we sat in those box seats I was quite literally Erin's plus one and everyone else had a spouse. Same with this time except we got to stick together this time which was nice. It was a close game. Utah scored first in the second period. New York scored next. I was hoping it would end in a face-off, but NY scored with one minute left. Still a good game.
