Hellooo springtime

alright this blog is gonna be a whole lot of randomness, but its been a good couple of weeks. I originally had plans to leave utah on a little trip but some things changed and it all worked out for the best.

first and foremost - the weather is finally warm and happy! Another northern Utah winter in the books and possibly the last. It's crazy how the whole world literally comes alive when the sun comes out. Everyone in the neighborhood was out walking their dogs, playing pickleball or soccer and all the kids were running around again at the playground. The whole community feels happy. and it's only gotten warmer since this photo.

Temple Thursday with ash! I really do love being able to see my friends on a weekly basis, it makes the biggest difference.

Last weekend the parents drove up north - which is always a good time, but they came up for a sad reason. Cameron Young, our childhood and family friend passed away so we attended the viewing and funeral. Yes the news was sad, especially when we came to find out the circumstances, but I hadn't seen Cameron in YEARS. I didn't think I would react too much to the events of the weekend, but I was terribly wrong. It was hard seeing him and his family he left behind. Hard listening to all the kids speak through their tears at the funeral and hard to imagine what they are going through. I actually hate it. But it was good to reconnect with the youngs and hang out with my own family.

Dad and I cranked out a good 4 miler before the funeral. It's nice having a running buddy once again.

Dad also got me this sick hoodie. shoutout to nick Shirley for quality merch and content.

another few days of work and bam headed to st George for a long weekend. My unit actually just opened up the other half of our floor that has been shut down due to the flood in august of 2024, so work has been a bit busier than normal. still good though. My shuttle from orem to stg though - sucked. worst ever. plus I was just exhausted and in a really bad mood. But the weekend in st George was one for the books that started out with a temple session with Sethy.

walks with mom while dad did hill repeats

Visited grandma and she whooped us in cards.

mayors loop with dad Saturday morning with a killer ending mile of 7:15. and a beautiful, blurry sunrise.

pine view track meet Friday and Saturday to cheer on the twinners. They both hit some rad PRs. Shoutout to Carlie for also getting her mission call this week to Tallahassee Florida! I still get somewhat emotional watching them run because I wish so badly that Erin was there with us. Without a doubt though she was there because she wouldn't miss a track meet in stg especially when it's their senior year.

The rest of the weekend included lots of good eating - smoked tri-tip, smoked ribs, grilled chicken and homemade cafe rio. visiting with Bama and randy, more walks enjoying the stg evenings, shopping and lots of laying out by the pool plus some jumping in. 10/10 weekend. was tempted to call out healthy from work just to keep the party going, but instead I hopped on the shuttle (it was a lot better on the way up) and came back up north. It's been a good night at work - can't complain.
