Currently sitting in my patients room listening to him snore away at 1:17 in the morning. So what better time than now to blog! This last week was a fun one. I decided to start putting my weekends to better use. I mean now that I don't have school and Im not going to be an RN with the 3x12 shift schedule forever, so my goodness it's time to use my long weekends to freaking party. I honestly can't get over how lovely it is to just work. I spend my night shifts now just racking up steps around my unit, listening to music or podcasts and every once in awhile binge watching a good show that comes out. Since ive only ever been in school while working as a nurse, Ive never been able to really have freedom for those 3-4 days off so yes I'm taking full advantage. This weekend I decided to take a little trip down to Moab. When I travelled down in that neck of the woods for the Monticello temple I forgot how beautiful that area was so I told myself I would be back soon. The last time I actually spent time in Moab was my freshmen year of college and even though that feels like yesterday - that was actually a lonnngg time ago. Thursday I headed down early afternoon and stopped in at dead horse point state park. The last time I came down here I skipped over this part and everyone told me it is a must see - so that was my first stop.

It was pretty, but if I'm being honest probably not worth the 20$ state park fee. Im not one to ignore the beauty we are surrounded by here in utah, but in the same breath some things aren't as spectacular when you are just surrounded by things like this constantly. So yeah - very pretty, but not for the fee when Ive seen things like this plenty haha. You will have to take notice though that this is my one and only picture before the snow hit. I saw the whether had some snow in the forecast for Friday morning, but I figured it would be a dusting because we haven't really had any snow all winter. Well I was wrong - Moab got pretty well hit that night. Back to Thursday night though - I got some delicious takeout. A buffalo chicken pizza (mid compared to slackwater) and some sweet potato fries. Tucked into my nice hotel room and watched the newest episode of Traitors (my recent fav show). Honestly it was so nice being alone. felt like a queen having my own hotel room ahah. Friday morning I slept in until I wanted to get up. When I finally got up, I looked out my window to find a crap ton of snow. Like my car probably had 4 inches on it (I actually have no clue if 4 inches is a lot or if my car actually had the much on it), but there was a lot of snow - you get the point. I decided delicate arch would be extra pretty covered in snow so I set out to Arches NP.

The hike was actually hilarious. I lost track how many times I slipped and fell on my butt. My forearms were actually sore the next day and the only thing I can think of that wouldve caused it was literally how many times I fell and had to catch myself. The best part of the day was when the clouds moved on over and the sun came out!
Look how pretty! Turned out to be a super nice afternoon in the 50s. Delicate arch is quite impressive, but honestly the whole dang park is so dang pretty.
Spent the rest of the afternoon exploring new places of the park I had never seen. Lots of little hikes to lots and lots of arches. I don't even have pictures of all the arches I saw/ hiked to. This one is Broken arch - even did some trail running to this one since the snowy trail wasnt too slippery on this hike.
Pine tree arch. I called it a day after this one so that I would still have some things to see Saturday morning, plus I wanted to go back to the hotel and hottub. So because I was alone - that's exactly what I did. I probably sat in the hottub for a good hour. Then ate some Mac n cheese I brought from home and tucked in for the night. I might've even got me an ice cream snickers from the hotel snack bar hah.
Saturday morning I once again slept in for as long as I wanted and then headed to the windows and double arch. This is one of the windows...
Another window...
This one is called Turret arch I believe. It's right by the windows.

Last but not least across the parking lot is my personal fav - double arch. SO impressive. It's actually hard to fathom how long all these arches took to create through weather and erosion and how all of them are so close to each other and how there are SO many all in this park. Kinda wild. Well that was my trip. It's always a good time appreciating the creations of our Heavenly Father. After a quick drive back up north I ended my Saturday night at the car wash getting a quick detail from tag-n-go since I spilled hot cocoa all over my passenger seat. Oh and speaking of car troubles - this week I also had to take my car back into Toyota a few days after they changed my oil a co-worker and I found they forgot to put the cap back on. so the smell of oil and the headaches while driving my car wasnt all in my head - it was just Toyota being lazy yayayyy. so fun having mild carbon monoxide poisoning. Literally by the time I actually got my car into the shop again I was so lightheaded, really bad headache and like dizzy. Im just glad they fixed it, but now I don't trust anyone with my car!!

Well I think that's it for the week - Sunday night I was back to work! Life's good. Oh and as of today - my transcripts finally went through so I am officially a certified NP with a certification number and everything - Now I just need to figure out the next steps...
