This week has honestly been pretty dang fun. Work was annoying this week, but the other parts of the week made the week a happy one. To begin - Monday we had a Galentines night! Valentines day is a stupid holiday. I'll say it. If ya love someone they should know it all the days of the year, but whatever I guess it's another excuse to eat chocolate and give gifts - or in my case an excuse to hangout with my friends. Ashley always puts on killer parties and she recently moved into a new home so it was extra cozy this time. We celebrated with homemade pizzas, sugar cookies, all the pink and red candy you can think of, lemonade and other goodies. We all made our own flower bouquets and I guess we just gotta pretend some hot man bought them for us haha.

We ended the night laughing our heads off playing games (guess the gibberish) and blind karaoke which was a hoot. One of those nights where my cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling so much. Life isn't always fun and games, but with these girls it is and I love that.

Tuesday was another day off work - I cranked on the homework this morning. I really do love school. Its been so fun to learn and connect the dots and apply what I learn in my career, but its really hard to love school when I have so many other things to get done in the week and its just another thing that's on my mind. So I enjoy days where I don't have work or anything crazy and I can just focus on school. I then took a little run this afternoon and I actually did run. It was so dang cold and snowy that I really had no other choice because I couldn't just walk. Felt good to run. and I was happy my body felt ok enough to allow me to run a few miles. My weather app this day said 25 degrees I think but the wind made it feel like 13 degrees. And I agree - it felt like 13 degrees.

That night Jesse and I made reservations at our favorite relaxation spa. Fika - for their cold plunge and steam room. At first I didn't even want to cold plunge because I had never warmed up from my run, but the cold plunge always feels worth it at the end. honestly though I think I could stay in the steam room for a full hour. I love it in there - sweating out all rage haha.
while chilling in the cold plunge (Literally) we were trying decide where we wanted to go for dinner... nothing sounded that good until I realized I wanted a steak. So I threw it out there... Texas Roadhouse?? Jesse was down and before we knew it we were getting a table for two at 8pm on a tuesday night in our sweats and wet hair from the spa. No regrets. The rolls - bomb and the steak - hit the spot.
We ended the night with face masks and Netflix. ALSO Jesse was nice enough to run through my head to toe exam with me. Ive been carrying around my pages and pages of rubric for this exam everywhere I go. I review them at work, while I'm waiting for appointments, or even to hangout with friends so they can quiz me. This week I get that exam over with and Im excited.
Wednesday Mom and Jack came up north to visit mason and it was a good excuse to call out of work. I mean Im not going to spend my day at work when my family is in town!! plus I needed to get more homework done.
Mom had a broken tooth that needed to be fixed and Jackie needed a check up before the mish. And good thing he got this check up because brushing his teeth once a day has caught up with him - 4 cavities later. Mason filled the biggest one and he'll be back up in a month or so to fix the others. He now brushes his teeth twice a day, plus flosses and uses mouthwash - what a guy. Oral hygiene for the win!
Thursday I headed back to work and a big storm came in that day so it took a wonderful 2 hours for me to get home and then I needed to shovel the snow. My cute roommate helped me we couldn't find the snow shovels so we used dust pans. I don't know if there is a better representation of living in a house full of women than having multiple dust pans and no snow shovels haha. We ended up finding the snow shovels after we were done, but the dust pans did the job! and we had fun while doing it.
After work on Saturday I headed home to stg. I would not have come home this weekend because I only have three days off, but I have to do that head to toe exam and my family allows me to practice/perform the exams on them sooo I had to come home to get this homework done. Always nice to escape the gloomy cold for some sunny warm weather. Alright that's all. Headed to mom and dad's temple prep class with the fam!! ok bye
