yes, I was in St. George for thanksgiving just last weekend. I literally drove back up north Monday morning to work a quick three days then return home to St. George. So this week I quite literally lived in southern utah while commuting to SLC for work. Pretty ho hum few days of work once again. Nothing to report there. Except I did turn in my FMLA - and it was accepted. So I'm excited to have that as back up for some days off to help cover my joints and sickness through these next winter months and year of school and clinicals. This weekend was intended to be spent in Dallas, Texas watching BYU (hopefully) play in the big 12 championship. BUT that didn't happen so instead I was going to go visit Emery County and hangout with the Hursts BUT they spent the weekend down here for a basketball tournament SO that's why I decided to come down once again... to hangout with Erin. and of course my family.
We had a very successful weekend. Time spent in the St. George Temple. Erins first time in this temple (since being re-done).
Met up with some friends for a wonderful lunch at Benja's.
Hot tubbing of course.
And for the best part of the weekend - and up there for greatest tradition of December... gingerbread houses!! Erin and I worked on one together. I warned her how serious it gets and how badly everyone wants to win "best overall". SO we were brainstorming and she mentioned a BYU house... well I immediately thought about how James (the judge) is a BYU fan so I said yes! plus with Erin I thought the cancer card might help us win. Well turns out James is more of a hard A$$ than I thought. So here's some foreshadowing... we didn't win overall.
But for good reason I guess because the competition, like always, was top notch this year.
A big theme was the recent election... and no Jack didn't win best overall either.
Evan ended up winning best overall with a very patriotic house that also showcased Mr. Trump. Erin and I's house won most spiritual hah. As always we are grateful for Joellen and all the work she puts in each year to keep this fun tradition going. A very fun weekend with family and with Erin. I leave back up north tomorrow to buckle down for a tough couple weeks of pretty much non-stop work. Should be so so fun. So if there is no blog next week that's why. Ok byee
