Knotts Scary Farm for the WIN

I know its only September, but I decided to start the halloween season a little early. I love haunted houses and rollercoasters so whats better than heading to california for the weekend and doing both?! A couple months ago I planned a little road trip to have a fun literal 24 hours in california. Work and school definitely get in the way so we drove 10 hours down, partied for the night/day and then drove another 10 hours back. Yeah Im tired... but lets start at the beginning...

thursday afternoon still in good spirits and ready for a fun evening. Got to stop by Dads mesquite office and say hi to him and some old coworkers.

None of my friends had been or even heard of BJs so I had to show them what they were missing out on. And of course they approved. BJs is a family must whenever in Vegas or california - so I couldn't not go! We then headed to the hotel to check in and settle our stuff. I booked this specific hotel because A. it was cheap - 78$ per person for two nights. Not bad right? and B. its only a couple blocks from the park so we saved a ton of money on parking holla. So we walked the 10 minutes to the park and started our very long, fun, scary, thrilling night. woohoo.

And in no particular order - here we go...

Half way through the night after hitting 4-5 haunted houses we decided to ride a rollercoaster - hangtime. We ended up waiting in line for like an hour and it wiped us out. BUT it was worth it purely for watching Jesse the whole ride. I was crying laughing so hard that I couldn't see and I was so dang close to peeing my pants.

We all crammed onto the same row for the swinging boat ride. Also hilarious watching Jesse.

The swings are my least favorite - actually everyone hated them.

Inside the clown house! Everyone loved the houses and I just love the excitement of walking around the park with creepy monsters everywhere, people screaming - its just a blast.

We were dead though. 1:30am which is 2:30am UT time and our feet hurt, our voices were scratchy, headaches and everything else. BUT worth it. Fell asleep around 2am and we were able to sleep in till 9:15!

A quick breakfast at the McDonalds across the street. We walked everywhere which was so nice not having to drive in cali traffic.

Hangtime part two and three! We had the park practically to ourselves. I mean it felt like it - no lines.

Log ride is for some reason always a hit.

We had the carne asade fries twice - they are delicious

And by popular vote - wooden coaster is the best. Everyone loved it. Sadly, Xcelerator was closed, but we hit every single rollercoaster many many times. And besides my wet jeans from the rapids ride (I voted no but everyone else wanted to try it) I wanted to stay till closing, but everyone was pooped by 2pm. So we dipped. Probably a good idea so we could get some homework and naps in that afternoon. Dinner at Blaze pizza and hot tubbing to heal our exhausted legs.

Woke up bright and early to get back on the road. Drove six hours to STG and stopped in for a lovely lunch. My parents made homemade cafe rio and sheet cake! I have no clue why, but Im very grateful they did. You guys are the best and all my friends were very grateful too. Without a doubt I have the best parents in the world, no question about it. We made it safely back up north. Laundry is currently being done, blog is just about complete, bag is packed for work tomorrow and in about 10 minutes my lights will be out and Ill be asleep. hallelujah. Glad I have fun friends to do fun things with. OK goodnight
