Region Champs Baby!!

A good, good week it has been. As stated last week about the "dark cloud" hanging above me, aka stress or maybe some anxiety... it's eased up this week a little bit. I think I still know there is a lot to be done with school and managing my time as well as thinking about the future of my friend and things such as that I definitely still don't feel as care free as I usually do, but better than last week and overall still a good, good week.

Every good week still has its obstacles so let's get the bad news out of the way. Not really that bad of news... I saw it coming because Ive been hurting more. I got to visit with doctor Jensen on Tuesday morning. I honestly look forward to seeing him every six months because A. I like to know how things are looking and B. I learn a lot from my visits. He is a very detailed doctor which I love. Let's just say Im a well established patient and my appointment was still 30+ minutes long. It was also probably that long because we had to fix some things... So anyways I told him I had taken the initiative to go back on twice a day naproxen because my pain had been increased lately. Just going to work each day (not any crazy physical exercise like running) my pain was getting uncomfortable. He started his physical exam and told me a few of my finger joints were "puffier", my left wrist more swollen (I had also been having recent wrist pain, so I saw that one coming as well) and lastly my back looking worse as well. yep, I figured. We talked about long-term changes and short term changes to quickly turn around this acute flare up I was experiencing. We decided on Diclofenac twice a day instead of naproxen. So wish me luck that it helps, cuz Im already sick of this pain again. I don't know how I dealt with it x10 for so long. Then of course ended the appointment with getting my high dose old person flu vaccine and some bloodwork. Very grateful for a doctor who goes above and beyond to make sure Im living my best life. The only bummer to this long doctors appointment was I missed Jack's bell choir performance. Him and his buddies rocked it though. I was, however, lucky enough to make it to his Region race that night. Did I sacrifice getting to bed early to make it to this race... yes. Region was 6pm in St. George and I worked the next morning at 7 in SLC. The things I do for Jackie.

Very much worth it though to see these boys become region champions.

It was a pretty perfectly executed race by desert hills placing 5 of the boys in the top ten.

a bunch of happy boys getting ready to (hopefully) crush it against some heavier teams at divisional and state. I don't know what I'll look forward to after jack graduates. I seriously love cheering him and the bros on.

Welp that wraps up my week. The excitement started and ended on Tuesday haha. I headed back up north that evening and had a boring three days. I ended up charging all three days and they were all easy days. We ended with a census of 3 patients on Friday so I did a lot of homework and watching TV while on the job. Well, that's about it. I have two more weeks left of advanced pathophysiology and just like regular pathophys I will be lucky to pass the class at all. As of right now Im looking at an 85% predicted and I need an 84%. When I did my pre-requisite class of patho years ago I think I went into finals week with a D or C as my grade. I pulled out a B- in the end, but sheesh I guess some classes never change. I finished up my evaluation at work this week which means it's almost time for another raise which will be nice. Some other good news is Erin was reached out to by the BYU football boys. they sent her a signed ball and some personalized videos. She said it made her cry and it made my day as well. It's always pretty rad seeing the love and support people give her and her family. Speaking of BYU they just won their game which makes them 6-0 I believe. Pretty cool. And that wraps up my honorable mentions for the week. Much love.
