Shopaholic

Well, well, well. Another week come and gone. This week flew by... I worked an easy three days this week. I am currently orienting a residency nurse which means she will orient to every unit in the hospital for one month and at the end she will apply to what unit she liked most. We have a ton of these nurses right now so I will most likely be orienting someone new the next few months. Its nice because I have an extra set of hands for dressing changes and bed changes and bum changes, but its also super exhausting because instead of speeding through my daily responsibilities like I usually do I have to take my time, explain everything, answer questions and let the new nurse do it themselves which requires a lot of patience that sometimes I just don't have. For the most part I think Im an OK teacher except for when we get behind then I just try and give her easy tasks while I do the more difficult things. Anyway - its been a good learning experience and its always a good confidence booster to see how far I have come in the last year. I was also asked by my boss to come and talk to him in his office this week. We talked about my orientee, and starting school and just overall how Im doing. Im grateful for my manager, Jose, and how supportive he is. He let me know that he is there for me whenever I need schedule changes or anything through school. He is always giving me opportunities to grow as a nurse and opportunities to learn and become more involved on the unit. It feels good to know that my boss likes me and appreciates my hard work.

I live a glamorous life, I know.

My schedule this week for work was tues, wed, and thurs. which is amazing so to spend my friday I headed to the temple! I made the appointment early in the week and if Im being honest the morning of I really didnt want to go. I was on such a good weekly schedule of going to the temple in the spring, but this summer Ive been so busy and haven't been going very regularly. BUT I went and of course I didnt regret it. Sitting in the celestial room - I just feel so much peace. No matter what is happening around us or in our lives I love how the temple just wipes it away. Without a doubt I usually start crying at some point of the session - just very grateful for my savior and what he has done for me and the way I can feel so close to him in temples. 10/10 morning. I will say tho jordan river temple is a lot different than the provo temples. its all YSA in the provo temples and in the jordan river it was just old couples and me. Not mad.

Lots. and lots. and lots of shopping. House shopping as seen above... me new clothes I bought as shown below...

This is why I need to start school - because on my days off I spend money when Im bored and I need to have something else to fill my time so I can save some money! But look at my cute room and new dress! worth it!

Saturday I was able to cheer on Jackie in spanish fork! He has a huge target on his back as a varsity runner, but he held his spot this week. Another solid 6th place. He wasnt the happiest with his race, but it will keep him motivated to work harder and harder each week. I love being able to relive cross country through jack - all my favorite memories from high school came from this sport and I love seeing jack love it just as much as I did.

Bestie was there too! The night before we were talking and it wasnt till then that we realized both our siblings were racing and that we were gonna be seeing each other!! love that for us. We may be retired runners, but we make a pretty good cheer squad.

Saturday afternoon I met up with jesse for lunch! no pictures, but always a good time with my favorite roomie. Then paddle boarding with these two crazies. And of course when we saw an italian ice food truck we made a pit stop.

I spent the rest of my saturday night doing laundry and going to bed early which was amazing. I am pretty much over my sickness, but Im still doing a lot to keep it at bay (meds, sleeping with a humidifier - game changer) I started looking over my syllabus for school today! And getting ahead in my reading and videos and stuff, but I officially start on tuesday... wish me luck. Im sure it'll fly by and in a blink of an eye ill earn a couple more letters to go behind my name - crazy. Well thats it for now, but big week to come! Now time to go hangout with the parentals! byeee
