Happy November!

Starting off November with a bang. Earlier this week, I had a burst of motivation to go down to the gym and put in a little extra time working out. Well as I was walking through the basement I heard something that sounded like rushing water and I knew someone was showering at the moment but it seemed a lot louder than usual. The basement was dark so I didn't see anything immediately but as I walked closer to the hallway I saw a huge puddle of water starting to cover the basement floor. I ran upstairs and yelled "EMERGENCY" haha and soon enough the whole family was downstairs putting towels on the water and helping clean up. Not the ideal family night, but we did get everything figured out.  I guess I have something for flooding basements because thats not the first one Ive caught.

This week I did a lottt of school work. I have a few big tests coming up and only a few weeks to get my grades up :/ I can't believe finals are around the corner... so excited to finish this semester, but so not ready for the tests. OH well, I always seem to work it out in the end. Thursday night I got to help erika with her kids. I got the kids ready for bed, slept over, got the kids ready for school and sent them off. Parenthood seems all fun and games, but let me just say... thursday night I got 3 1/2 hours of sleep. I am not used to that and to be honest I wasnt too happy about it, but I guess thats parenthood for ya. I studied till about 11:30pm and as soon as I put my notes away I was out. Around 1 am I was scared outta my pants when I woke up to a dark figure standing beside me. I have seen too many scary movies to automatically think it was one of the kids. After a few seconds of being frozen staring at this figure I realized it was tay. She asked me to sleep in bed with her. I ended up getting into bed with her and about 10 minutes later I hear pierce run out of his bedroom SCREAMING!! I quickly hop out of bed and calm down the screaming child in hopes that he didn't wake the baby. After putting pierce back to bed I then headed back to tays room where I layed there for three hours not being able to sleep. It was either the night light, her snoring or her singing stuffed animals, anyways I fell asleep for a couple hours before pierce hopped in bed with us around 6am. WHAT A NIGHT. Still looking forward to parenthood, but Im definitely going to appreciate these next few years of sleep a little more.

Friday night me and shawnee decided to ditch town and head to the mountains. We stopped in at the Pizza Factory where we had a dang good dinner. That night in pine valley we chatted with grandma by the fire, sat in the hot tub for a few hours, watched footloose, and messed around and ate way too many treats.

We slept on the couch and woke up to the cuckoo clock the next morning. We ate some breakfast and headed out on a nice cold morning trail run.

Grandma gave us the bubble blowing things in our mugs so we made a little snowman.
Cute fam pic.

You're welcome dad.

Saturday night me and the gals had a wicked dance party on airport hill. It's most definitely our favorite thing to do. I would post our choreographed dance on youtube, but I wouldn't want people to be jealous of our moves because Im pretty positive it would go viral.

Crazy night. I will forever love spontaneous dance parties in the desert. Last but not least for the week was church with my girls.

This week Ive been thinking a lot about how Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us. Usually that plan is nowhere near what we want for ourselves, but we have to have faith that it's what's best for us. On our run saturday morning, shawnee and I talked about how awesome it is to know that even when things don't go as planned or the way we want, we know it'll be alright. All we have to do is trust in the lord and he will lead you to where he needs you to be. Its just so cool to know that we are in the hands of a loving God who is taking care of us and helping us through this life. Life isn't always easy, but having the knowledge of the gospel helps me realize there's never a reason to not be happy.
Happy November!
(how is it already november?!)
