The "yes" kinda girl
For awhile now Ive been thinking about how I want to be known as the type of person to always take opportunities. All kinds of opportunities - whether that be to go on a crazy spontaneous trip with a friend or even just serve a sister in the ward... I want to be one who is willing to do it. I feel like this time in my life is very not set in stone and I have the opportunity to do a lot. And I love it. I love having a pretty relaxed schedule to where I can make time to hang with a friend in town or watch my brothers baseball game up north. This week was just a lot of random fun things like that...
Madi was on her spring break so we hung out a couple times! She drove down to provo to look at some job openings and then I made her a yummy dinner! Its exciting to both be graduating and accepting jobs... becoming adults - real adults - together.
Monday night chilling with the gals. Jesse had to do a podcast a couple weeks ago for a school project. We helped her out thinking it would be a one time thing, but we had so much fun with it we decided to make some more podcast episodes... and this is where they take place. The floor of our bathroom. This night we just hung out and chatted (our podcast episode was on stranger things - we are nerds we know) and tuesday night we pulled out some card/board games and turned on shawn mendes music videos on our TV. Doesn't take much a have a good time with these two. So so grateful for them.
Tuesday morning - did a little run with jesse. It was a gloomy morning and neither of us had plans till the afternoon so at 10am we decided to go hot tubbing. It was a super relaxing way to start the morning ahah. We just kept laughing at how random it was that we were hot tubbing at 10am on a tuesday - but ya know what - why the heck wouldn't we just send it? so duh I said Yes to jumping in the jacuzzi.
Wednesday was my last day of class... no new material to learn... kinda scary Ive learned apparently all I need to for the NCLEX. ahhh. Exciting though! After school I headed over to Stansbury high school to watch seth play some ball. Madi was bored so she came too! I love baseball and I love being able to see see seth.
Thursday morning was my last lab - EVER. Where the heck did the time go?! We look really happy in this picture and we were, but that doesn't mean I didnt cry on the way home. Our last lab was pretty cool though. We were given 6 patients and we had to prioritize their care from most critical patient to least. Then all of us were the primary nurse for one of the patients. My patient was a 46 year old male with a heart attack. He ended up coding on the way to the cath lab which is always fun, but we saved him. Wasnt sad for long about being done with lab, because next stop was St George!!
I sure do love St. George. Bike rides, scooter rides, shopping and fighting the crowds of many spring breakers. A running update: So up north I just run with a timex watch. I only ever know how long I have ran for... never the mileage or pace. So I took dad's garmin for a little run to see where Im actually at when it comes to speed. I did a four mile run and averaged 7:24 minute miles. I was actually super impressed with myself. My first mile was 7:43, 7:28, 7:09 and 7:13. Feels good to know my body is getting there. and it felt good to run that fast and not feel too terrible.
Friday was the annual Dixie amazing race. Erin needed an extra runner so I stepped up to the challenge. I was the second leg - had to spin around ten times and then run around the baseball bases. Erin didnt feel to good, so I also finished off the race with a 400m run with a jumpy obstacle course thing. We actually ended up 5th out of 23 teams - Not bad!! It was a fun afternoon activity in the stg heat. All of us had the dry hacking coughs after the race - forgot about how difficult it is to run in the heat.
And an early easter egg hunt on sunday.
Mom puts on one heck of an easter egg hunt. Its been fun being home for the weekend, but I'm excited to grind out these next two weeks of school. Next time I come home Ill be a nurse grad woohoo. Thats a wrap on this week. Life's good, real good.
Love you Laynee. Love that you blog.
