Its summer baby!

Hi, Im back. Sheesh I didn't even realize it had been three weeks - woops. I guess that goes to show how busy and absolutely boring life has been. It's been quite the grind. But it's paying off for right now because I finished my latest class and this first round of clinic rotations which means I have two months off! I couldn't be more excited to not have homework to do or clinic to attend. Just boring old work and a few vacations to look forward to. Anyways - I have some pictures to catch up on and maybe some things to say, we'll see.

Still night shifting it up! Been pretty much full time nights for a few months now and Im obsessed. Lets discuss the pros: I don't have to wake up early to get to work, I get to do homework while at work, which also means I overall just have more free time which means hitting up the massage chairs, watching Netflix, catching up on continuing education requirements and so forth, the people that work night shifts are 100x better, its quiet, and I get paid way more. SO duh, nights are better. Sadly I stop full time nights this week and head back to more frequent day shifts for awhile, but hopefully once school starts back up in July I'll get back to nights.

Ive been running a lot more recently. I felt super good for awhile and was only taking my naproxen once a day. Well I got ahead of myself and my doc and I decided to trial no NSAIDs. Well it worked the first 24 hours, but then I went for a 6 mile run and then I couldn't walk without pain the rest of the day. So I haven't run the last few days and Ive been taking my medications religiously trying to get back to feeling better. Gonna try running again tomorrow, hopefully my SI joint doesn't get too angry.

Another reason night shift is better is waking up at 4pm and getting to run in the sunshine. I try to take advantage of any sunshine I can while up north. I think it is officially warming up up there, but it was still pretty cold last week.

Temple Thursday every week I can if Im in town. Get to hang out with the parents while they are running the veil. I haven't been able to attend church very regularly due to work, but I do love making time for the temple.

Also lots and lots of track meets for Jackie. He's absolutely crushing it and I love watching him. Sad to think he is down to his last three meets ever. I wish little brothers could stay little forever.

My selfie with Connor Pay from buy football  - the one in the white shirt.

At dixie Jack hit a new PR and state qualified in the 800 with a 1:58. Second place too.

Oh and finally getting some sun and laying out by the pool. The pool is still pretty chilly, but it's getting hot enough to where we definitely jump in.

Finished my final paper and ended up getting an A on it yeehaw!

Finished my first rotation of 135 clinical hours. It was fun and Dr. Woolley was great, but man Im excited to not have to see patients 6 days a week between that and my job.

Jackie is preparing for South Africa which is only two months away. He has mission clothes and he got a bunch of stuff for his birthday like a journal, new set of scriptures, money and other necessities. Oh yeah he turned 18! We didn't do anything too crazy bc it fell on race day so we celebrated after the race with a pasta factory dinner (to carb load for his races the next day).

Mission pictures - check.

had a little time to hang out with good ole Jesse - we did what we do best and went to the movies. Watched the movie Warfare. It was a movie about the 2006 Iraq war.

Lunch date to Benja's with grandma. Always good to find time to visit with my grandmas. Plus we both love Benja's so it works perfectly.

Last but not least - lots of perks and blessings to being a nurse. One of those blessings is a smooth forehead. I sure do love waking up in the morning and deciding to hit myself up with some tox. Well I think that about catches us up to speed. Lots to look forward to over the next few weeks and I should have more time to blog about the future events. I will say - today was nice to actually attend church and feel the spirit again. Today in stake conference the meeting was focused on the new hymns and coming closer to christ through music. The song "I will walk with Jesus" is a new one and as I sang the lyrics I teared up as I thought about Erin. I feel like I have been slacking a lot on coming closer to christ in a time where I probably need it most. Erin's wish for everyone was to come closer to christ and I swear her whole reason for living the extra five years was to continue to share her testimony of christ. Well Im a terrible friend and ive completely disregarded her wishes because I haven't really put much effort in to anything recently. And like I said - I probably need the extra help most right now. anyways, not that school should be an excuse, but hopefully these next few months off help me get back on track. Idk - maybe school isn't the reason at all, I might just be rebelling in some ways out of anger or sadness. not sure. All I know is I need to do better and I sure do miss Erin. a whole dang lot. Anyways - church was good, I enjoyed my parents temple prep lesson and jack was given the melchezidek priesthood today. good day.
